ORLANDO, FL – The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) is proud to announce that Mauldin & Jenkins’ River Yang, CPA, is one of 15 recipients of our 2025 Horizon Awards, recognizing the brightest young CPAs at the forefront of our profession.
Through service to their firms, the FICPA, and other worthy causes, Horizon Award winners are advancing the CPA profession and strengthening their local communities.
River was honored during a celebratory breakfast at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tallahassee on Wednesday, Feb. 5, ahead of the FICPA’s 2025 CPA Day at the Capitol.
An accounting associate in Bradenton, River graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Florida in 2023, joined the firm that summer and passed all four sections of the CPA Exam within his first year, obtaining his license in August 2024.
He now works in both audit and tax across various industries, assisting governments, non-profits and banks.
While at USF, he was the social chair of the Beta Alpha Psi accounting fraternity. He also participates in various volunteer opportunities within the local business community and has served in the IRS’ Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
