CHATTANOOGA– Volunteers from Mauldin & Jenkins, a Top 100 accounting firm, came together for United Way’s Day of Caring to lend a helping hand at Crabtree Farms, a local urban farm, in preparation of its highly anticipated fall plant sale & festival. The event saw an outpouring of support as employees rolled up their sleeves, contributing their time and efforts towards field preparation, planting, property maintenance, weeding, and general landscape maintenance.
A virtual source of fresh produce for the community, Crabtree Farms is a community-focused urban farm committed to education, food access and sustainable agriculture in the Chattanooga area. The fall plant sale serves as a vital fundraising initiative, enabling the farm to continue its work year-round.
”The past several years, the Chattanooga office has had the opportunity to participate in United Way’s Day of Caring,” shared Kate Escobar, Community Service Leader of the Firm’s Chattanooga office. “This year, we enjoyed getting outside and helping Crabtree Farms. We loved that we were able to see our impact on the farm and give back to our community.”
In addition to providing accounting and advisory services, Mauldin & Jenkins is committed to making a meaningful impact in local communities and engages in numerous community service projects across its 14 locations throughout the year. More than just a corporate social responsibility, community service is a core value deeply embedded in the Firm’s culture, and the Firm actively encourages and supports its employees to get involved in charitable causes that resonate with them personally.
