ATHENS- August 9, 2024 –This summer, Mauldin & Jenkins Athens office employees gathered at the 2024 Lions Club Kiddie Carnival held on July 28, 2024, to spread carnival cheer as part of the firm’s annual community service initiative. The Kiddie Carnival, a beloved event, featured rides designed especially for young children.
Volunteers assisted with operating rides and games, working the concession stand, and engaging with members of the Athens community. Their assistance with the Kiddie Carnival not only ensured that it ran smoothly but also allowed employees to give back to their local community.
“Volunteering at the Kiddie Carnival is incredibly rewarding,” Senior Manager Genny Besh shared. “It’s a pleasure to support the Lions Club members as they bring joy to children and families in the Athens area and surrounding community. By hosting the Kiddie Carnival, [members] not only provide a wonderful experience for the community but also raise funds for important local and national causes such as vision and diabetes.”
The Lions Club is an organization that focuses its service efforts on five areas of need, including diabetes, vision, hunger, childhood cancer, and protecting and restoring the environment.
“Vision issues are personal to me since we have a daughter who was born with vision problems. I love the opportunity to help raise funds and awareness to provide vision screening and vision needs to students in our community,” shared Besh.
